NSW: Bushwalkers to be rescued today
SYDNEY, April 14 AAP - An injured woman and two children were among five bushwalkersawaiting rescue this morning after spending the night in the wilderness of the NSW BlueMountains.
A Katoomba police spokesman said a helicopter rescue crew was expected to airlift theinjured woman, who had a suspected broken ankle.
He said the group camped out with police rescuers who were unable to lead them to safetybefore nightfall yesterday.
The bushwalkers were believed to be in the vicinity of Gordon Falls Lookout at Leuranear Katoomba when they raised the alarm about 6pm (AEST) yesterday.
Rescuers used mobile phone contact to find the the bushwalkers last night and two policeofficers stayed with them until morning.
The spokesman said the group was safe and well.
