Fed: Thousands attend national Anzac ceremony

CANBERRA, April 25 AAP - Thousands of people have turned out at the Australian War
Memorial in Canberra for the national Anzac Day ceremony.

Governor-General Michael Jeffery, deputy Prime Minister John Anderson and New Zealand
High Commissioner Kate Lackey are the guests of honour at the ceremony.

They were met by a royal guard of honour from the Australian Federation Guard.

Major-General Jeffery is receiving the salute from veterans who have marched up Anzac Parade.

Some of those in the march include Australians who took part in the D-Day landings
at Normandy during World War II.
