CANBERRA, Jan 21 AAP - Alleged Australian al-Qaeda fighter David Hicks would get afair trial in his home country, Defence Minister Robert Hill said today.
Senator Hill rejected claims he or the government had demonised Hicks, who is beingheld in a military prison in Cuba by the United States.
Hicks's family and his lawyers have accused the government of demonising him, makingit impossible for him to ever receive a fair trial in Australia.
